If there's a Murphy's Law for runners I have the perfect example. I take time off from running to give my legs time to recover from my shin splints. I decide to cross train on the elliptical machine to get in some cardio. I haven't been on an elliptical machine for about a year. I do 3.5 miles in 30 minutes and when I get off, the back of my legs lock up! I hobble from the gym back to work.
The next day, today, my calves are so tight I can't believe it. I thought I would try running a few miles tomorrow with the training group but even that might be a challenge!
So all I can say is, I feel like an idiot. The bright side is I decided not to run the race next week. I don't have to worry about getting my miles in.
