Why I run

I am facing tomorrow's long run with some trepidation. Even though the mileage is somewhat less this week -6 miles - my calves still hurt and I'm worried I won't be able to do it. Six miles has been no sweat for me so far but with my shin splints this week it will be rough. Slow and steady, I have to remember.

This is probably a good time for me to recall why I do this:

1. To be healthier
2. To lose weight
3. To be able to keep up with my sons
4. To boost my confidence
5. To feel good about myself
6. To prove I can do it
7. Endorphins!
8. To have a life outside of work
9. To relieve stress
10. To have time for myself

So when I wake up tomorrow at 5:15 am to get ready, I can remind myself that it's worth it.
